If you watch “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” on ABC like Jackie and I do then that warm welcome will sound familiar. Ty Pennington, the leader of the show’s design team, greets all chosen families in that same way. Extreme Makeover chooses families from across the United States who have special needs or are in dire situations and build them a new home over the course of 7 days. The show truly is an inspiration, and Jackie and I really enjoy seeing the work that they do.

Imagine our surprise when two of our friends found out the show was coming to Central Arkansas to help a family in need. Those two friends were also chosen as volunteers during the 7 days of home building. Now, the story goes deeper. Jackie’s little brother has a boy in his class named Job McCully who has endured medical issues for many years. We recently found out that Job’s family was chosen by ABC to receive an Extreme Makeover! You can read all about Job and his family on the official site.

The funny thing is that Jackie and I had to stop due to a police motorcade coming through town yesterday and had no idea what was going on. We saw a huge bus go by and all sorts of vehicles with flashing lights, but we couldn’t figure out what we were seeing. Last night it dawned on Jackie – that was the Extreme Makeover team heading to Job’s home! I snapped a picture from my iPhone of the police, but I missed getting a picture of the actual design team’s bus.
