We went to Tyler Bend yesterday – a spot on the Buffalo River. We wanted to grill some hot dogs, maybe do a bit of fishing, and let Jackie’s cousins go swimming and floating. I’ve always gone to the Spring River so I didn’t know anything about the Buffalo. One of our good friends is [...]
Once again, my brother Paul has to be just like his older brother (and I’m pretty sure his idol) – me. Paul and his wife, Tara, found out they are having a girl today. Both our families just doubled the estrogen! Oh well, at least Paul and I can trade stories about how our wife [...]
Jackie and I went to Lake Nimrod for camping and fishing with her family. I had never even heard of that lake, but it was surprisingly nice and pretty large, too. It’s located about 45 miles from our house so the drive was nice and easy. It has 5 campgrounds, but only 2 of them [...]
Jackie and I went for our appointment at Baby Views yesterday and found out that we’re having a girl. Jackie has been hoping and praying for a little girl so she’s on cloud nine right now. I’m glad we finally know so we can start picking out clothes, getting the nursery ready, and figuring out [...]
We went to the doctor this past monday for our 12 week visit. They did a second ultrasound, and the baby is now the size of a lime. It looks a bit like a little alien, but you can see its head, arms, body, and legs. We even got to see it [...]
Our cat, Gig, might be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. I can’t even lay peacefully on my own couch.
Braxton turned 8 years old this year so we had Jackie’s family over to celebrate. David and I played Rock Band on the Xbox while Braxton rocked out on his own little guitar. Jackie made eggrolls and Yaki Mando for lunch, and we had birthday cupcakes for dessert. Here’s a picture of Braxton opening his [...]
The weather has warmed up a bit here – in the 50s and 60s lately. We wanted to get out of the house and get some fresh air so we decided to go to Petit Jean State Park for hiking and some lunch. Jackie’s mom also wanted to go so we all piled [...]
Jackie and I just found out that we’ll be having a baby! She’s about 4 weeks into her pregnancy, and everything is going smoothly so far. Our first doctor appointment is Feb 27 so we’ll be sure to keep everyone updated on how it’s going.
Jackie and I spent last week in Littleton, CO which is right outside Denver. Jackie’s Aunt Adele and two cousins, Karlee and Jordyn live there. I’d never spent any time in Colorado so I got to see a lot of new things – namely snow and the Rocky Mountains. Adele and her fiance, Dale, showed us around the city where we got to do a lot of shopping, eating at good restaurants and hanging out. They took us to Winter Park where we spent part of the afternoon tubing down hills, and I spent my time generally trying not to freak out (those of you who know me know that I can’t take heights). After the first couple of times I settled down and convinced myself I wasn’t going to die. Then I was good to go.
