Baby Views Photographs

Baby Views is a place that takes “4D” ultrasounds of your baby around 30 weeks into the pregnancy and gives you a disk of photographs.  It’s the first time you ever get to see your child look like an actual baby and not that fuzzy, black and white ultrasound image you get from your regular doctor.

Jackie and I went for our visit yesterday and spent about 45 minutes with the doctor as she took all kinds of measurements, told us about Addison’s size and weight and growth, predicted how long she’ll be, and a lot of other helpful and fun information.  As an aside, does anyone else find it strange that we talk about length until a baby is born and height after a baby is born? I feel like we should put a size on her too. Congratulations, Trey! You’re baby will be size Medium!

The Doctor told us that if Addison goes to term she’ll be about 8.5 lbs and over 21 inches long. Her legs are already the length of a baby 3 to 4 weeks older than her! If you know Jackie and me, then this won’t surprise you. She also said she had a small head but that was normal and good. Everything else is looking great so far. Our only concern is that she’s currently breached, and we’re obviously hoping she turns before the big day comes. The doctor said we still have plenty of time for that to happen so we’ll see.

The photos we received are below.  Addison kept her left hand – and sometimes her foot! – in front of her face most of the time, but I think the photos turned out great.
